What's New at MagicMaker-Scraps and some Freebies

Okay... these may not be new but these are the latest from magicmaker-scraps . So far, there are already seven digi-scrapping kits (Beach Party [commercial-use], Slumber Party, Lasting Moments, Roots and Wings, All that Gitters, Laces and Pearls, and For My Guy), eight QPs with A Twists Sets (Before I was Born; Hello! World, Hello Baby; My First Book of Records; My First Book on Numbers; My First Book on Colors; My First Book on Nursery Rhymes; About a Man; and A Woman’s World), one huge bragbook set (My "A-Z" Bragbook-53 pages); one 2009 calendar photo border set (12 cluster borders); and four cluster border sets. And there are still more coming this December. Plus, I have an important announcement to make too with regard to membership and some extra sets. All sets are Scraps-for-Hire/Others (S4H/O) friendly too. Sounds great, isn't it?

So, here's a kit for all the boys/men in our lives. It's called "For My Guy".

Be a magicmaker-scraps club member to get this kit.

Of course, there's a sampler freebie for everyone.

Download the Freebie at magicmaker-scraps

And here's a "QPs with a Twist" set like no other. Ten pages of nursery rhymes where you can put your child's own picture on it. I love this so much...in fact, I have already made two photobooks from this one as our christmas gift for my niece and the other one for my bestfriend's daughter--I'll still have to ship this one as my friend has been living in the U.S. for more than a decade now.

Be a magicmaker-scraps club member to get this kit.

Yup! there's sample page for everyone which is actually the outside back cover for the photobook. In any case, you can use it as a stand alone QP.

ADSDesigners December Collab Kit Freebie: Holidays at Home

it's time again for another blog train. For sure there will be a lot of Christmas Blog train for this month. So, better be ready for it. Last year, I followed so many blog trains and when I burned them to DVDs I got six DVDs filled with Christmas kits, LOL. Okay, I still haven't used most of them but since I have so many photos of our Christmas memories from my childhood up to this day, I guess I will be able to use them someday.

Anyway, here's my first Christmas Collab for this month. I'm also doing another kit for Christmas Around the World, so, you'll get two Christmas Mini Kits from me alone, LOL.

Well, I just did a mini-kit for this collab kit since I know you'll all be collecting a lot from other blogs, so I just made a small one so that you'll have more disk space and time to gather other lovely kits from your blog hopping.

My part consists of unique realistic elements that represent what our Holidays at Home looked like--and yes, they were all photographed (except for the baby Jesus figurine) and extracted by me from our Christmas Decors. So, let me just say something about each piece:

Poinsettia - I have a lot of memories of this christmas flower. I remember, when I was in grade school, it's our yearly project every year to make poinsettias made of crepe papers. This poinsettia that I bought in Divisoria is actually made of stockings. It may not look like it's made of stockings in the preview but I guess, you'll find the detail of this poinsettia in the png file very interesting.

Parol (Christmas Lantern) - This is the most popular Christmas decoration in our country. Usually, people hang wreaths in their doors in other places but traditionally, here, each house hang parols in their windows. They are usually star-shaped and have blinking lights in them. My parol is not the elaborate capiz-type with colorful lights at night--this one is made of native materials which is also the theme in our house (me and my husband's place).

Candle holder accent - I love this Christmas table decoration from my mother-in-law's house. Well, this is really only for display purposes because the woods might get burned if we will light the candle. I took this picture last Christmas and now you got another Christmas decor from our other home (my in-law's house).

Baby Jesus Figurine - My mother have this baby Jesus figurine which she put in a native bread server. She also wrapped it with green sinamay and placed it in a side table. It was a hit in Christmas 2002, in fact my niece have her picture taken with this one. The Baby Jesus figurine photo that I used in this mini kit was actually taken by either Meg (the one in the picture below) or Faye. They were so amused with the digital camera (the technology was still new at that time) that they photographed everything they fancy--plants, stuffed toys and other items found in the house.

This final element (Baby Jesus) is the one that really reflects what christmas/holidays at home means to us: it's about the birth of the Savior--Jesus, the Messiah. So, kindly reflect on this one before you download:

"If man's greatest need was learning,

then God would have sent us an educator.

If our greatest need was technology,

God would have sent a scientist.

If our greatest need was money,

God would have sent an economist.

If our greatest need was entertainment,

God would have sent a performer.

But, our greatest need is forgiveness,

so God sent us a Savior."

Thank you for your interest but the download links are no longer available.

Now, follow this blog roll and get other ADSDesigner's part for this blog train.

Photo Cluster Border Calendar Freebie Part 4, available for 48 hours only

Well, 4shared seemed to be restricting comments to members only. I was trying to upgrade last night but it also seemed I can't pay through paypal since what appears is the one asking for my credit card number... Hmmmm, I don't think I would want to give that info. I find that "bite" ad with a vampire with bloody mouth very annoying (don't you) and I don't want that to appear on my download pages--so I have no option but to pay so that such ad won't appear. I'll email 4shared today to ask how can I pay through paypal. As you know, there are also invalid links as well in my download pages. DH explained to me that since I have so many freebies and people who download them in my account, I'm exceeding their free bandwith share for the month--maybe that explains why some links become invalid--so upgrade is a must. 4shared is doing anything to make you subsribe with pay, LOL. Well, that's business so it's understandable. So, I'll just pay for the upgrade so that everybody can enjoy the stuffs here and at magicmaker-scraps .

Opppsss... by the way, I have also adjusted the comments part in this blog so that anyone even if you don't have gmail account can leave a comment here. I just didn't remove the user verification part because I don't want spams--so please bear with that.

Since, some of you said that4shared is giving you a hard time to download so I guess, I'll just leave the other links for another day.

This calendar set is actually for my holiday gift project. My father-in-law has been asking for a personalized calendar for two years now. Poor me, I always give him other gifts when all he asks is this. I made a calendar for my sister-in-law (which he saw) two years ago and my FIL loves it. Unfortunately, I still don't have a scanner during that time. It's easier to make one for my SIL because all her photos in that calendar was taken using a digital camera. Now, with a scanner and this calendar set, I have no more excuses. Papa will surely have his calendar this Christmas.

Last year, I made a calendar for me and my husband and have them ring binded like this:

See, I'm the model for January,LOL, as my birthday falls on this month.

With my cluster border calendar set, you bet, my 2009 calendar will look better.

Now, what if you don't have a ring binder? I found this easy to make "a Bible calendar" in an old magazine (Woman's Day, January 5, 1999 issue) and it doesn't cost much to make this one. I just scanned it as that issue is not availble online. You can adjust the size according to your print size if you want (4x6, 5x7 or 8x10) Here it is:

Please visit their site at http://www.womansday.com/ as a way of giving thanks for sharing to us this great project.

So, with or without comments (but I'm hoping there will be comments), here's your part 4. I know Rottie Mama, Gloria of Italy, NMikes and the rest of you who have been with me since VQQP days and who never miss to say "thank you" are happy with this stuff. So, just enjoy them, I understand if you can no longer express your appreciation for it because of certain restrictions. God bless.

Photo Cluster Border Calendar Freebie Part 3

Here's part 3 of the 2009 Photo Cluster Border calendar. Hmmm.... I wonder why after 100+ downloads for part 2, only Sharon (Scrapcat4914 ), as always, has left a word to say thank you (both here and in 4shared). Anyway, I'm leaving today so I have to post it early. I'll remove the link of part 2 when I come back since it's too early to do (it's not yet 24 hour since I posted it).

What's New at MagicMaker-Scraps and some Freebie QPs

I'm so excited with my latest "QPs with a Twist". With this set/series you can personalized your child's "First Book of Learning the Basics"--adding his/her own pictures on each page. This set is ideal for making photobooks. Front and back covers are included in the download as either Bonus QPs or QP Freebies.

The first one is called "My First Book on Numbers" or "I Can Count" set. I really can't decide which one to call it so I just call them both names--that's why in the front cover it says the former and the back cover has the latter title, LOL.

Be a magicmaker-scraps club member and get this QP Set.

Download the Freebie here

The second one is called "My First Book on Colors" or "I Can Tell Colors" set. I really love this set...very colorful, hehehe.

The set is not yet complete as it also include, "My First Book on Shape" and "My First Alphabet Book"...plus a surprise QP set also in this "Learning the Basic Series". In the meantime enjoy this QP freebies first.

ADSDesigners November Collab Kit Freebie: After Dusk

I never thought I would be able to finish this kit after everything that happened in my life.

I actually combined three most-loved night out activity that our family does whenever we have time. My sister's family loves to star-gazed since they have a telescope. If DH and I have time, our night-out would usually be watching movies. Every December 30, my siblings, cousins and our respective families go to a theme park called Enchanted Kingdom. There are several rides there (that's why there's a Ferris Wheel here) and we just wait until 11:00 p.m. for a wonderful firework display. Anyway, I have taken several firework images during the pyrolympics so I might add some fireworks here, too--later this week.

Though most of us have difficulty with the theme "After Dusk" since most of us are SAHMs, we usually spend our extra time after dusk in front of the computer...you know, making kits, LOL. Anyway, as I looked at the previews of other ADSDesigners, I was astonished how beautiful the kits are.

Just go over the blog roll and you'll have something to use for your late at night activity LO, from girl's night-out, candlelight dinner and of course, star-gazing.

Thank you for your interest but the download links are no longer available.

Here's the rest of the blog train for you to stop-over:

What's New at MagicMaker-Scraps and some Freebie Samplers

I'm done with my two kits for this month at magicmaker-scraps . The first kit is a glittery one for things that you can find in land and sky. I love this kit a lot, it makes me sing "what a wonderful world!"

Be a magicmaker-scraps club member and get this kit.

Here's a little sampler for everyone. You might think it includes only a few elements but I guess the kite is a must-have. It's big in size--big enough to have an extracted photo of your kid hanging on this one as the kite flies high. That would be fun, isn't it?

Download the Freebie here

Now, the next one is a dream kit. I've never seen a heritage kit with a complete pedigree like this. One of my favorite kits is Netta's Revered Descent which has a three-framed pedigree. Sad to say, it's no longer available. Anyway, you can read more about this kit at magicmaker-scraps blog. You'll also see other previews as not everything is shown in this one.

Be a magicmaker-scraps club member and get this kit.

Of course, there's a sampler for everyone. I hope you like it and will be able to use it too.

Another Award, Yippee!

Here's another award from Michelles . As she said we seem to be exchanging awards every other week, LOL.

The rules for this one is to say 7 things that I love and then pass it on to 7 people...

There are so many stuff that I love (My Lord and Savior, My family, friends, etc.) but I guess, I'll just put here seven things that I love that really make my day:

1. a beautiful garden with lots of butterflies flying around

2. sky filled with stars

3. hearing children's laughter

4. looking to old photographs

5. seeing and chatting with old friends

6. seeing my husband coming home at the end of day

7. my blog and 4shared files filled with nice comments, LOL

Now, I'm going to pass this to seven blogs which have distinctive designs. I love the background that they used in their blogs (those on the sides)--they are not the usual templates that are available (like the one in my blog, LOL). Go and see their blogs to see what I mean.

I'm Still Here!

Have you ever wondered what happened in my life during the last few weeks that I was away? My life has been preoccupied with so many stuffs. First, DH had a minor operation. His wisdom teeth are impacted and needed to be removed--one was already extracted and the other one is scheduled next month. Since, DH was on a sick leave for an entire week because of that I devoted most of my time with him. My niece celebrated her 1st birthday last October 18 and as usual I get myself busy by making her invitation, ref magnet souvenir and banner tarpaulin. I also made a 10-page photobook for her. I also bought most of the party stuffs that she'll be using and sent it to my sister (she lives 12 hours drives away in Quirino province) since most of the items are not available in her place. Take a look at the invitation and ref magnet that I made for my niece:

credit: I extracted Tinkerbel's and Barney's photo (her party's theme), negative frame by Kari Quinto (KariQ Designs); the rest of the paper and elements are from Sweet Felicity kit by SAB Designs.

credit: I extracted Tinkerbel's and Barney's photo (her party's theme), the cluster border is also from me that I offered at magicmaker-scraps; and the rest of the paper and elements are from Sweet Felicity kit by SAB Designs.

My father-in-law also celebrated his birthday on October 16 and I also made a photobook for him. I was also making a 40-page wedding album for a customer during that time. So, how's that? I guess because I used my right hand so much, it came to a point that it became very painful. So for a little while, I only used my left hand in making my latest kit (all that glitters) and other household chores. Much as I would want to update this blog, it's very difficult to type with only one hand. Doing a kit using a mouse with my left hand is OK but typing is another thing--it takes so much time.

Anyway, I'm very much okay now. I was supposed to update this blog last weekend but a very sad event happened in our family. On my niece's first birthday last (October 18, but she had her party on the 19th) my grandmother died. It was a mixed emotions for us. Do you remember my post about why I decided not to sell my Cinder's Dream Kit anymore? I was supposed to give it as a freebie for a limited time only and then have it available for sale at magicmaker-scraps. If you have read that post you'll know the reason why that kit is still available for everyone until now. That was a very long post that I posted last August 31. You can read that post here and you'll find out how much my grandmother means to me.

I used Michelle's kit called "Loving Memory" which is very timely for my situation at the moment. As I visited some of my favorite blogs today, I saw it and I downloaded it right away.

Download this kit in michelles-angels blog

Today, I made several posts to make up for the lost time, LOL. You'll find some freebies below (from me and from other designers) so scroll down and grab them all.

Magicmaker Teddy Bears Freebies

I was supposed to give this Teddy Bears for magicmaker-scraps members when I posted the Sugar Shoppe kit last October 1. I have posted in my other blog the reason why I wasn't able to do so, LOL.

If you are collecting all the Sugar Shoppe kits from different ADSD member's site/blog, then you'll be able to make the Teddy Bear hold other elements from my fellow ADS Designer's kit. Unlike the ones in my Sugar Shoppe Kit, the Teddy Bears here are bare (they don't have dresses, LOL) so you can freely dress them up like I did. Their arms are also in separate png files so you can let them hold any stuff you want. You can also recolor them or flip one of the Teddy Bears horizontally if you want.

Please take note that the entire set of Teddy Bears are exclussively for Magicmaker-Scraps members only. I hope no one will get upset since the set is originally for them and I just decided to give one as a freebie-for-all today.

I love grab bags, so I won't tell you which one of them is the freebie and which two are for members only. Surprise!

Download the freebie here

password: magicmaker

For magicmaker-scraps members, proceed to magicmaker-scraps blog to get the other two Teddy Bears.

You'll love these stuffs--a QP, a kit, a sampler and a Commercial Use Freebie Template

I should have posted these items a century ago, LOL. There have been a lot of things that happened in my life since my last post and I guess, I'll be spending the whole day posting.

My Little Prince QP

First, Michelle at michelles-angels made an awesome LO using "My Little Prince" kit. That kit was really made for her son, Andrew--it's Michelle's special request. When I saw the layout, my jaw dropped in disbelief: I emailed her that I can't believe the kit and the picture do look good together. Michelle's wording was quite good: the kit is perfect for the picture. Okay, see for yourself, here's the picture. Don't you agree?

I really love the out-of-bound effect that Michelle did with the photos. And yes, she made a QP out of it so, you can jump to her blog afterwards and download the QP freebie in her blog and leave her your lovely comments. She usually make 8x10 QPs, the size that I actually prefer since I print most of my layouts.

Anyway, my post is actually very late already since Michelle had posted this QP about two weeks ago (October 7) so you need to scroll a little bit and go to her older posts. But while, you are there and scrolling you'll surely love what you'll see as she started making some wonderful kits. One of which I am going to use tonight (I just dowloaded it). She also have some more QPs made from other designer's kit.

Download at michelles-angels blog

Braelyn's Castle Kit

Lindsay at spinkydinkscraps made a princess kit which she said was inspired by my glittered castle. You can go to her blog to download it and give her some love as well. You have to scroll a little again since she posted it last week and she had other post already including a tagger size Braelyn's Castle Kit. This other elements in this kit goes well with Cinder's Wish kit, so grab it now.

Download the kit at spinkydinkscraps’ blog

Castle Template Freebie

Lindsay said that she saw a layout with my castle in it and she fell in love with it that's why she made her own glittered castle pattered over it. So, I thought maybe some of you are interested to use this castle as well. So I made it in layered form (PSD) and separate png files for each element set so you can make your own version of your castle.

I made it available for download at magicmaker-scraps . Since it's a commercial use item and I will put there all the CU freebies that I will be making starting today.

I've been tagged and has been given an award

Blog Award, Hurray!

Lady Queen has given me an award two weeks ago. She knew what happened to me and I told her I would be posting this as well as I will pass this award as soon as I can. Now, the time has come. I'm so honored to have this award.

This is called the "Proximidade Award" or "Friendship Around the World Award". Originally this award was written in Spanish, but it translates to highlight blogs that are pleasing or special in some way, and also to extend the hand of friendship around the world.

Now, I am supposed to pass this award onto either 6 or 8 other blogs.

Through digital scrapbooking, I was able to establish ties with some individuals. Some of them are even praying for me and has given me encouragement in times of trials.

Candy Marcum - http://www.scrapsofcandy.blogspot.com/

Shannon - http://shannersfamilyscrapsstuff.blogspot.com/
Vicki- http://digilovers-addiction.blogspot.com/

Another Blog Award, Yahoo!

The next award also came from Lady Queen. I also love this one.

Now, I'm passing along this award to other scrappers, Friends, artist etc. Though it doesn't say how many blogs do I need to pass this on so I'm gonna give myself the liberty to give it to those special blogs that really touch my heart because of their openness to share their lives (they really blog) and beliefs (share their faith for instance) to other people. They just don't give digital scrapping freebies but they share and inspire others as well through their stories. They also share their pictures/LOs for the whole world to see, that I think is something that puts a "heart" to a blog--you allow strangers to know who you are. I see it as a way of extending one's hand to find friends in cyberspace. Now, that means I'll have a longer list here.

Note: This is just me, to those whom I will pass this on, you may not follow my criteria. I guess, for you it's okay to pass it on to only two or three persons.

Just a Few Question

Lisa (http://aleahsmommy.blogspot.com/) sent me a few question also on the first on the first week of October, LOL. So here they are:

1. How long have you been using PSP? I don't actually use PSP, I only know how to use PSD.

2. How did I get into tag making, Scrapkits? I used to be a CT member and I make a lot a QPs. Somehow, I want a little more challenge so just thought making a kit since there are resources that I can use using provided by "the ephemeral victorian" blog--that blog has already closed.

3. Who's my favorite artist/s? Same as Item #4 below.

4. Who are my favorite scrap designers? I have a lot of favorites among them are: April Cotton (aprilsscrapaholic)--she offers variety on her kits, from digitally made to extracted elements; Lonetta Avelar'(Creative Victorian)--her kits are very elegant; Kimberly Bartlett (fishinmom Designs)--they are very versatile, you can use one kit in so many layouts; Carolyn Kite (Srap-N-tag)--very original, I think she's the first designer who ever made the first element/frame/border clusters; Kristi Westling (Scrappin Diva)--her kits are so enchanting; Kim Broedelet (KimB's Design)--she has very unique kits with lots of elements that will make you say "wow!"; Boo Silva (Booland's Design)--very much like KimB's, she makes awesome kits too; Jannidee (JanniscrapDesign)--her kits are always fresh and one of a kind; Deb (thescrappincop)--she's the digiscrapping world's CU Freebie Queen and you will really wonder where she gets all the time and inspiration to create wonderful templates (she's really amazing); Linda Walton (bonscrapatitdesigns)--she makes very lovely kits that are big enough (the number of elements and papers) to make an entire album; and of course, Joni Gray--she's very creative and she never runs out of kit and QPs to make that are just beautiful and very useful.

5. Who's blog do I go to everyday? Not everyday but just as often as I can--let's just say I'm their regular blog reader. Sometimes I'm busy with other stuffs or I'm away so I wasnt able to visit them on a daily basis but I see to it that I'm updated with the buzz in these people's blog whenever I can: Lynnette (Lynette's photoart), Michelle (Michelle's Angel), Lisa (Aleah's Mom); Lady Queen; Candy Marcum (Scraps of Candy); Vicki (Digilover); Deb (Digital-Keepsake); Charlie (charliesdigiscraps); Shannon (shannersfamilyscrapsstuff); Joni Gray, Kim Scrapping, and those that I mentioned in item 4 (above)--April Cotton, KimB's, Netta, Kimberly Bartlett, Kristi Wesling, Carolyn Kite, Joni Gray, Boo Silva, and Jannidee.

Now, to pass this on to 3 people:

ADSDesigners October Collab Kit Freebie: Sugar Shoppe

It's another collab kit for ADS Members, this time around it's called Sugar Shoppe. Last Month, I did Cornucopia of Colors in fairyland. Now, I have done the kit with the Sweetie Bears. You have Sky, Land and Sea Sweetie bears--you can recognize them with their attires and the kind of sweets that they are holding. The Sky Sweetie Bears are the makers of anything soft-cupcakes, marshmallow, cotton candies, etc. The Land Sweetie Bears make hard candies and lollipops. Finally, the Sea Sweetie Bears concoct all things that melt--ice creams, sundaes and chocolates.

Since, we mostly used Deb aka The Scrappin Cop Styles, most of our papers and elements are of the same textures (thanks, Deb) so the elements of this kit will surely complement with the other kits from other members. So combine them to your heart's content.

Thank you for your interest but the download links are no longer available.

And yes, Debbie of digital-keepsakes made this beautiful QPs from my kit. She made other bragbooks too from other designers and she gives them away one set each day. So, it will appear on her blog anytime this week.

Now, go back on your track and enjoy the train ride as you pass by to other amazing blogs to get the rest of the kits.
