Captivation Kit and QP Freebies

I made several QPs using Netta's Captivation Kit. They are available at scrap-n-tag shop. Here are the previews of the kit and the QPs. But First of all, here are the QP Freebies. This was made by CT member Cindi.

Captivation Quick Pages 1

Sorry this freebie is no longer available

Captivation - Mini Kit at $3
A spunky little mini kit in shades of pink and purple.

6 patterned papers 4 ribbon wrapped frames 4 double loop bows 4 diamond spiral clips 4 semi-sheer pearled ribbons

Now, here are the QPs made by yours truly

Captivation Quick Pages 3 for only $6.00

My First Mini Kit Freebie

This is my first attemp to make a kit using the The Ephemeral Victorian stuffs. Visit the blog here. Maybe I got so used in making QPs and I realized I wanted to bring my digital scrapbooking stuff into a higher level...so why not make a kit? So here it is. Nevertheless, I also made three QPs from this kit. This kit is called Jeans and Jewels. It has two downloads, the Kit and the QPs are in separate downloads because it became so big in size. This is just a mini-kit but it is 64MB and the QPs are 48MB. There's only one denim paper here, size 12x12 at 300 dpi. All the elements, alpha and QPs are at 300 dpi too.

I hope you like it...and it's my first time also to request comments from you. I hope you will take time to say a few words regarding the freebie. You may find the kit very "amateurish" but please be gentle with your comments since like what I've said it's my first time in designing a kit. Thanks.

February Challenge Part 3

Book of Me Challenge
Okay, your assignment this month is to scrap about what love means to YOU.

Love...was when God became a man

These pictures were taken on Christmas 2003 when Meg was five years old. These were one of those hundred digital images that we were not able to print. Now, I have to unearth them for Feb 08 Book of Me Challenge. I know how I would define "Love" but I was having a hard time what photos to scrap. I looked from our Christmases folders and I found these cute photographs. I guess these are just perfect for my love definition.

Element Challenge

Your element to use are Flowers.

Mother and Daughters Bonding Time

This is my sister and my most photographed nieces. We do not have children of our own yet to be our subject for picture-taking but we do love taking pictures of my nieces (and they loved being photographed too). Once, my husband and I realized that our hard disk has more pictures of them than we do. Well, primarily because it' s always he or me who is behind the camera. Nonetheless, we love taking their pictures and I love scapping them too.

Scraplift Challenge

There are so many amazing layouts in the gallery. Look through angel_p's gallery. Pick one of the amazing layouts to lift. You have over a 200 hundred to choice from.

A Happy Day

These were a few of Faye's lovely pictures. She was only seven in these photos (taken in 2003). She's always game in front of the camera, in fact she loves being photographed. Now that's she's a tween, she loves doing different poses even more. This LO was made for Feb 08 Scraplift Challenge. It was scraplifted from Angel P's Field of Dreams LO (http://digital-scrapbooking.org/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-3323)

February Challenge Part 2

This challenge is very challenging. I wanted to complete all the 17 challenges but perhaps this is one that is holding me back. Do I really want to display my wacky shots? Anyway, I did and here they are.

I Can't Believe You Scrap That Challenge
This is a challenge just for fun!! Do you have some strange, silly, kooky or just plain crazy pics you've always wanted to scrap?? Go through all those pics you took "just because it was funny at the time" and scrap it!!

The Dieter's Struggle

These photos were extracted from two group pictures where we all posed for wacky shots. I initially planned to make these photos popped from a heart since I'm wearing red and it's the love month. But as I put these photos together I found out they looked like an angel and a devil tempting someone. That's only incedental. I had a hard time with journalling here but as I was being tempted to eat so much today, the idea just popped-up. Good thing there are available elements in my file for this scrap.

QUOTE CHALLENGE
The quote for this one is about friendship. It's very easy for me but who among my numerous very close friends will I scrap. Finally, I decided to put them all together.
"Friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together." -Woodrow Wilson
"Friends are the sunshine of life." -John Hay
"What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies." -Aristotle
"Love is rarer than genius itself. And friendship is rarer than love." -Charles Peguy

My Friends for Life

In different chapters of my book of life, I have found friends that have been so close to me. These are some of whom I'm so blessed to share my life with.

Shape Challenge

OK, seeing as it's Valentines day this month, the shape is HEARTS. "But we've already done hearts" I hear you say? Well, that's why this time, it's going to be a little different! Your LO's for this month need to contain a minimum of 5 hearts. It can be the same heart used five times, or it can be 5 different hearts. You could cut your photo or papers into the shape of a heart, or use heart shape embellishments, it doesn't matter, it's completely up to up! So long as there is five hearts in there somewhere!!

Mary Heart Therese

This is my newborn niece, Mary Heart Therese. They say she looks like me. I haven't seen her in person yet. These photos were only sent to me by my sister. Two months from now, I'll finally be seeing her. I'm so excited.

Sketch Challenge
This is very similar with the template challenge. I guess the only difference is that this one is flattened.

And this is what I come up with, hurray!

Wedding Picture of Mom & Dad

I've always wanted to make a layout of my Mom & Dad's wedding picture. This could have been done last Februaey 12 since they could have been celebrating their 41st Anniversary, if only Daddy is still alive.

February Challenge Part 1

I'm nearly complete with my February DSO Challenge. I've already completed 13 out of 17. Four more to go. Here are the LOs that I made for the Challenges.

Lyric Challenge
Use the song lyrics of "Love Song" by the Cure

Love by the Seahore

My husband and I went for a one week vacation to celebrate our 3rd anniversary in Boracay. This was taken on our last day at the beach. We took our turns to take our respective pictures by the seashore. We were desperate to have a picture together so we approached a stranger to take the shot.

Template Challenge

Using the template, this is what I come up with.

Spring Cheer at Sentosa

This was taken during our vacation to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary in Singapore.

It's in the Number Challege
For this challenge you will need: 2 papers 2 elements 2 photos

My Daring Sister

2 papers, 2 pictures, 2 elements! What a Challenge! We went to a mini-zoo where anyone can have an up-close encounter with some wild animals. My daring sister didn't think twice to have her picture taken with a young tiger. She did enjoy the feeling of feeding the young tiger but when the milk was gone and the tiger moved from her lap, she was shocked. Well, it's one of her most unforgetable experiences.

Pixie Pick for the Day and a Freebie

I was not supposed to post today. But I was so excited that my layout was the "Pixie Pick of the Day" at DSO (digital-scrapbooking.org). I want to complete the 16 challenges at DSO for this month and I submitted my wedding photo layout for Kimberly's (aka fishinmom) Heritage Challenge. That was the one that gave me that title. LOL. Anyway, I just log-in there this morning just to post my LO for the Element Challenge when I read that message from Jenn.

Because I'm overjoyed. I was inspired to make another LO for the Ad challenge. This is dedicated to Jenn for bringing a smile in my face today. Life is beautiful, indeed. You see, I was sad yesterday. My husband is out of the country right now and it's the first time that we're not together on valentines day (we've been married for five years now and we've been a couple since Dec 1998). This LO is for DSO's Ad Challenge. I know this one is not an exquisite LO--it's just plain and simple. In fact, no single element is used in it. But after finishing this layout, it brings an inner peace in my heart and I was so bless with the simple pleasures of life that God has given me.

I guess what Joy (a DSO Designer and the AD Challenge host) said that "This ad made me feel so very warm and ready for spring-it actually takes the chill away when I look at it!" made me feel the same way too. Though there is no spring nor winter in the Philippines, the feeling of being refreshed crept inside my heart--maybe it's the color or just the words I put in my LO plus the Desiderata. I don't know but I'm providing it as a freebie QP for anyone who wants to put his/her own picture in it or you can put somebody else's picture as well to cheer him/her up.

This is the original photo for the Ad Challenge the rule is: "Use anything from this ad - colors, textures, sections, anything that inspires you!

I guess I'm overly inspired that's why I completely used everything in my layout. LOL.

The story behind the photo: I'm not comfortable having my pictures taken without any make-up but then again these pictures are one of the exceptions, they are my favorites. My husband is a hobbyist photographer and I'm his favorite subject. I told him I want my picture to be taken with the flowers. While I was composing myself what poses I would do and goofing about it. The shutter made continous shots and my husband captured these candid moments. I looked at it from the camera's LCD and I liked what I saw. I didn't mind to make another pose. My husband is so good in taking candid shots.

Now, here's the freebie. The size is 12x12 at 300 DPI. I guess, this is what life is all about...Enjoy!

Happy Valentine's Freebie

It's a lonely valentines for me. My husband is out of the country right now. Anyway, as I was packing his things last week, I inserted a valentines card in between his clothes so that there will be a surprised card for him on Valentine's day. I asked him first to checked all the clothes that I have put in there before I slipped-in the card--to make sure he'll not see the card beforehand. When everything has been packed and the luggage has been zipped, I was giggling to myself. All of a sudden he thought of bringing a handcarry bag to put some clothes there, just in case his luggage got lost. So, he unpacked the clothes again and choose what to include in his handcarry. Oppps...he saw my supposedly surprise card for him. He didn't recognized it as a valentines card, so he tossed it and said: "Ano ba'to stockings?!" (What's this, stockings?!). I was surprised by his reaction and I blurted out. "It's my Valentine's card for you! I was supposed to surprise you with that." He laughed and I nearly cried. Oh well, my sweet gesture didn't work-out.

Anyway, here are three Valentine QPs made from the "Amore Kit" of Boo Silva (BooLandDesigns), see her wonderful works here . This is for DSO's color challenge which you can find here . There will only be one download for all the QPs. I have put them in one folder. I hope you will find it useful. Happy Valentine's Day!

Thank You Freebie

I'm overwhelmed with your comments at 4shared and in just one week (I started blogging only last Jan. 30) I got 1,300+ hits. Thank you so much. My Teddy Bear QP is such a hit that it has 300+ downloads even though I just posted it three days ago. Anyway, I guess everybody loves Teddy Bear here, so I made another QP using my very own frame and teddy bear as a "Thank You Freebie" to all of you. I'm really inspired. The teddy bear here is actually a coin bank given by my friend, John Rumbaoa. He knows I'm a teddy bear lover so he gave me one. I have several teddy bear stuffed toys in my collection and one of these days I'll take their pictures to make a teddy bear kit.

Anyway, as always, there are two sizes for this freebie. One is 12x12 at 300 DPI (you can resized it to 8x8, 6x6 or 4x4) and the other is 8x10 for those who want to print it and put it in a frame (again you can resized it at 5x7. I tried it and the cropping will not affect the text nor the teddy bear design). Enjoy the freebie. By the way the glittered diamond hearts are from flergs.

Another Freebie! Hurray!

Well, I'm ecstatic over the fact that my Sweet Thing and Faded Treasures QP has reached 100+ downloads on it's first day. It's only my second day of blogging and that means I got 100+ hits as well. So, I'm giving away another freebie. This layout was done for DSO's Heritage Challenge by Kimberly (aka Fishinmom, http://fishinmom.blogspot.com/).

This is my nephew and my husband's "inaanak" (godchild). I love the way he unknowingly posed for the camera. he's only months old in this pic. He's not aware that while he's sleeping somebody captured this precious moment.

Credits: Xavier Kit by Kimberly Bartlett, font, cut-n-paste, avant que

The size of this QP is only 5x7 and 6x6 at 300 dpi. Sorry, if they are not 8x8 nor 8x10 but I intend to put it a frame and give it to his Mom, hence it's the perfect size for my need. Anyway, I hope somebody else will find it useful as well. I made some modifications in the QPs, I removed the "You sleep like an angle and as cuddly as a Teddy Bear" journalling so that you can put your own. I also put a photo slot so you can just put your own picture on it instead of cropping a picture like I did. There you go! Enjoy...

Now is your turn to grab these freebies:
